I joined Bill’s Wing Chun class in Weston-super-Mare on my Wu-Shu teacher’s recommendation and started with my daughter who was 14, she was painfully shy and struggling with confidence and social situations. I brought her to training hoping martial arts might help.
She was reluctant at first, but Bill’s relaxed approach and knowledge soon won her over.
With time, she began looking forward to classes, lifting her head and becoming more confident and Bill encouraged her to demonstrate forms in front of the class, gradually helping her face what she feared.
Her confidence grew with her skills, and she eventually qualified to teach.
That confidence took her to university — something I once thought impossible. She is now completing a Master’s degree in engineering in Cardiff, teaches Wing Chun at university and still trains with Bill online.
When she’s home, she still kicks her dad around!
Bill has also helped me adapt my own training around my health and fitness limitations, continuing to support and challenge me.
I still love Wing Chun, but above all, I’m grateful for what Bill has given my daughter: confidence, resilience and belief in herself.
That really is priceless.
Beginners

Very welcoming to new students. All instructors and fellow students work to help you get the most out of each session to improve your proficiency in the discipline and at the same time increasing your strength and conditioning. I started when I was eighteen and was greeted by all manner of different individuals whether it be by age, gender, stature or by experience. It is truly a wealth of information from some unbelievably talented people that are fully understanding and willing to help you and your progress grow. In my two years here I have learnt so much and built lots of enjoyable relationships and experiences.

Friendly club with ego free learning (makes a huge difference), tailored to suit the individual. Really effective self-defence artform. Tuition cost are very good.
